Why the handbike need the speed control function?
Israel stipulates that
the Handbike cannot exceed 12km/h on the road, Singapore is 10km/h, Japan is 15km/h,
Switzerland is 25km/h and so on;
Today, I want to talk about the speed control function of wheelchair handbike.
As we know, electric handbike is a type of wheelchair tractor. It can connect with manual wheelchair (Especially active wheelchair, sport wheelchair) to provide the electric drive propulsion.
The handbike made the manual wheelchair become a small electric tricycle. Compare with electric wheelchair, the handbike drive faster and more powerful. And the battery of wheelchair handbike is able to drive up to 50-75km.
Gradually, more and more wheelchair-users prefer handbike than electric wheelchair, though the electric wheelchair get to the market before handbike.
So, why the handbike need the speed control function?
There are several points in the below:
1) Some customers have special requirements for the maximum speed of handbike;
2) Different countries have road regulations with maximum speed limits. For example, Israel stipulates that the Handbike cannot exceed 12km/h on the road, Singapore is 10km/h, Japan is 15km/h, Switzerland is 25km/h and so on;
3) According to the health of different wheelchair users, the maximum speed limits should as a factory setting to ensure their safety when driving Handbike.
Anyway, speed control function is very important for wheelchair users, except the above reasons, this function also can give them sense of security. Handbike is designed to provide wheelchair users with a more friendly, safe and convenient experience.
